World-Herald to close downtown Omaha printing press, outsource production

The World-Herald will close its downtown Omaha printing plant at the end of this month and outsource production of the print newspaper, the news outlet’s parent company, Lee Enterprises, announced Monday.

The organization will continue publishing to its digital platforms seven days a week and will continue to deliver a print edition Tuesday through Sunday.

Nathan Bekke, Lee Enterprises' president and interim CEO, said that the printing transition will help the company invest in its digital future.
