Mike Blinder is the Publisher of Editor & Publisher Magazine, host of the weekly E&P Reports vodcast and CEO — Chief Evangelist Officer — of The Curated Experiences Group.
For more than three decades, Mike has helped news organizations navigate disruption, develop new revenue strategies and adapt to a constantly changing media landscape. Today, he leads Editor & Publisher, the authoritative voice of the North American news publishing industry since 1884.
Mike’s connection to media began early. While still in high school, he interned at WPEN radio in Philadelphia and worked at Radio Shack, selling the first generation of home computers. While attending George Washington University, he worked full-time as a Washington, D.C., disc jockey and became a station manager within five years.
Known on the air as Mike Lawrence, he later managed broadcast operations and sales for several radio groups while continuing to appear on air. In 1985, his work as a Maine radio personality was featured on CBS News’ 60 Minutes with correspondent Ed Bradley.
Mike moved from radio into television and eventually print, where he helped launch one of the first digital newspapers in the United States. His early work in online publishing earned him recognition from the Newspaper Association of America as a Digital Pioneer.
Before acquiring Editor & Publisher in 2019, Mike spent 20 years building The Blinder Group into one of the media industry’s most respected consulting firms. He personally trained more than 10,000 media sales professionals to embrace digital revenue strategies and solutions. His marketing programs for small and midsized businesses have reached more than 100,000 business leaders in cities and communities around the world.
As host of E&P Reports, Mike conducts candid weekly conversations with the publishers, editors, journalists,
entrepreneurs and advocates shaping the future of news.
Mike is also the author of Survival Selling, a practical guide to succeeding in business-to-business media sales. He has received numerous industry awards, served as president and board member of several media and marketing associations, and remains a sought-after keynote speaker, moderator and conference host.
Mike lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife and business partner, Robin, and their miniature goldendoodle, Dolly.
