Who deserves to be E&P’s 2026 News Executive of the Year?

Help us honor a news media leader who has risen above the rest

Posted

For decades, E&P’s Publisher of the Year award has recognized extraordinary leadership at the highest levels of news publishing. But today’s news organizations — and the titles of those who lead them — have changed.

That is why we are introducing E&P’s News Executive of the Year, an expanded honor open to the highest-ranking leaders of news organizations across every platform and business structure.

At a time when disruption is constant and journalism’s sustainability is anything but guaranteed, we want to recognize the exceptional executive who turns challenges into opportunities — driving innovation, strengthening the business, protecting journalism and inspiring others to accomplish what once seemed impossible.

Whatever their title — publisher, CEO, president, owner, founder, executive director or general manager — this is our opportunity to honor a leader proving that bold, effective leadership can keep journalism vibrant, relevant and sustainable.

ENTER THE CANDIDATE BELOW, who you feel:

  • Demonstrates bold and effective leadership
  • Builds sustainable business and revenue strategies
  • Embraces technology and meaningful innovation
  • Strengthens journalism and community service
  • Inspires teams and turns vision into measurable results
  • Helps advance the news media industry as a whole

The 2026 honoree will be featured on the cover of E&P’s November issue.

Nominations close at midnight ET on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
