CNN appoints Stefano Pozzebon as Rome correspondent

ATLANTA — CNN announced the appointment of Stefano Pozzebon as an international correspondent based in the network’s Rome bureau.

An award-winning Italian journalist, Pozzebon will be responsible for covering major news stories in Italy and across Europe for CNN’s linear and digital platforms.

He will work alongside CNN Vatican Correspondent Christopher Lamb, who leads CNN’s coverage of the Vatican and the papacy of Pope Leo XIV.

Pozzebon previously served as a contributor for CNN in both Bogota, Colombia, and before that in Caracas, Venezuela, where he was instrumental in the network’s coverage across Latin America in English and Spanish.

He most recently reported from Venezuela after twin earthquakes struck the country within seconds of each other, causing widespread damage and killing thousands of people. He also reported on Colombia’s recent razor-tight presidential election and the ongoing changes inside Venezuela since U.S. forces snatched Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro earlier this year.

Named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Italy list in 2017, Pozzebon studied international journalism at City University, London.

He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese as well as his native Italian.
