News influencers* continue to be prevalent in the U.S., from hosting podcasts to being involved in politics. New Pew Research Center data from the Pew-Knight Initiative finds younger adults still are their biggest audience: 38% of Americans ages 18 to 29 say they regularly get news from news influencers on social media, more than four times the share of those 65 and older (8%). These match the findings from our landmark study last year, but the new survey also addresses a related question: Why do people turn to influencers for news?
