Richner Communications selects SCS system to modernize advertising and production operations

Community Advertising System to go live with Richner Communications in the fall

Richner Communications, Inc. (RCI), based in Garden City, New York, has selected SCS’s Community Advertising System (CAS) to modernize and streamline its advertising, production and customer service workflows. RCI publishes more than 70 community newspapers and related products, primarily serving Long Island communities.

Following an extensive evaluation of available solutions, RCI chose CAS to replace its legacy advertising and production systems. The decision was driven by CAS’s comprehensive functionality, proven industry track record, and SCS’s reputation for exceptional customer support.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Richner Communications on this project,” said Phil Curtolo, vice president of sales at SCS. “Richner is one of the most innovative and forward-thinking organizations in the community newspaper industry, and we are honored that they have chosen SCS to support their operations and future growth.”

With CAS, RCI will gain enterprise-wide access to a fully integrated platform for display, classified and digital advertising sales; billing and accounts receivable management; and customer self-service tools. Advertisers will be able to place ads online, download e-tearsheets and review proofs through a convenient web portal.

“CAS will also provide Richner with the industry’s most advanced automated ad dummying and pagination tools, along with powerful capabilities for ad creation, component management, workflow automation and long-term archiving,” Curtolo added.

Implementation began in May 2026, with the system scheduled to go live in the fall.
